Waxing Services
Waxing is a hair removal service that uses a warm, resin-like substance to remove hair by the root. It's a semi-permanent hair removal method that can provide long-lasting results. Waxing can be a good alternative to shaving because it can:
-
Prevent cuts, nicks, razor burn, and skin discoloration
-
Reduce the risk of ingrown hairs
-
Make hair grow back slower and finer
-
Provide smoother results
Pre and Post Care Instructions for Waxing
Pre-Care Instructions:
-
Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate the area a day or two before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and help prevent ingrown hairs.
-
Hair Length: Ensure your hair is at least 1/4 inch long (about the length of a grain of rice) for effective waxing. Or about three weeks of hair growth
-
Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 48 hours before waxing to minimize skin sensitivity.
-
No Lotions or Oils: On the day of your appointment, avoid applying lotions, oils, or creams to the area being waxed, as they can interfere with wax adhesion.
-
Consult Your Practitioner: If you’re taking any medications (like retinoids or blood thinners) or have any skin conditions, inform your waxing professional beforehand.
-
Must be off isotretinoin for at least 6 months prior to service
-
Pain Management: If you’re concerned about discomfort, consider taking an over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before your appointment.
-
Avoid getting waxed while you are menstruating or near menstruation date as that can increase your pain level

Post-Care Instructions:
-
Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching the waxed area to prevent irritation and bacteria which could cause infections.
-
Keep it Clean: Gently cleanse the area with a mild soap and water to remove any residual wax or irritation.
-
Moisturize: Apply a soothing, fragrance-free moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and reduce irritation.
-
Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 48 hours to minimize the risk of irritation and pigmentation.
-
No Sweating: Avoid vigorous exercise, saunas, or hot baths for 24 hours to prevent excess sweating and irritation.
-
Skip Exfoliation: Avoid exfoliating the area for at least 3 days to allow the skin to heal.
-
Watch for Reactions: Monitor the area for any unusual reactions, such as redness or bumps. If irritation persists, consult a professional.
